mr-president asked: I just noticed that yesterday you used "&c" rather than "etc", and I wondered if that was due to my influence. I've been using &c since high school, when I first saw it in the Mayflower Compact or somewhere. I think it's a lovely old-fashioned way of writing it, and in any case I'm glad to see someone else using it too.

I just finished rereading the entire Chronicles of Narnia series. Allegory, allegory, allegory. The best way to read Narnia books is to mentally replace every mention of Aslan with Jesus or God and every mention of Tash with Allah.
I love both. Also, I think it’s more useful to think about the Chronicles of Narnia as a set of...

How was your Christmas this year? What did you get...
I had a meal that consisted of nine tiny courses spaced out over the entire day. I ate said meal with my extended family. It was glorious.

I know you don't think that people should have sex...
“People” are quite free to do whatever they like, but if you need my special permission to get your kiss on then kiss away.

Have you ever had a crush on someone you met on...
I have, but I’m not a good person to ask about this. My perpetual singleness is pretty legendary.

I miss the Red Hoodie. And the Blue Hoodie.
They are my good friends. I’ll always try to own a red hoodie and a blue hoodie. It is summer right now, though, so we won’t be seeing them again for a while.

How do you feel about fiveawesomegirls ending?
It’s sad, but I think 5AG has run its course (in a good way). 5AG is actually what properly introduced me to the Vlogbrothers and the Harry Potter fandom. The girls’ lives have changed a lot since the start though, and if the format no longer serves them then I’m glad to see them moving on to other projects.

Ohhhh… I just. Wow. I have no words.
Should I laugh or cry? Both? Soooooo CRINGE! *dies*
Clearly cheesy slogans and hideously bad graphics are just what people want to wear! (?!?) PLEASE tell me no one buys these!?
Oh no. Classic christian cheese/emotional blackmail. I am almost personally offended by this one. This one particularly left me speechless (WHAT!?!?).
THAT LAST ONE!...
tgrebecca asked: Haha, that's awesome! I had mentioned your video at christmas. Which reminds me I still need to prove to my brother you actually used the photo, hehe. The chicken is still sitting above our stove, happily carrying eggs. I got the strangest look when I explained you rate things on a 'chicken to duck' scale, haha.
Merry belated-christmas by the way! I got Will Grayson,...

“One of the hallmarks of following Jesus is to pursue and love people who are different than we are and have different beliefs than we do, and to live our lives loving, understanding and coming into common ground with those people.”
I love Derek Webb. So. Much.

Do you still argue for no-control free-market...
I never have and never will. I argued AGAINST it - sorry if that wasn’t clear! If left completely to its own devices, the free market increases the wealth of the rich while further marginalising the poor; trickle-down economics doesn’t really stand up to scrutiny. That kind of injustice just doesn’t fly with me.

I started with ‘Illinois’, but ‘Age of Adz’ is pretty well up there too. Both are indispensable albums for even the most casual Sufjan fan.

conservative or liberal?
Oh gosh - uh… neither? I’m pretty centrist on most things because I get that there are sensible reasons for people’s different stances on most issues, so I don’t want to trow the baby out with the bathwater by ignoring the merits of opposing views. In high school my friend (who was a Communist at the time?!) used to call me a radical centrist because I would passionately...
