“We […] note with dismay that little mention has been made by politicians or the media of the rights of those religious and humanist bodies that do wish to conduct same-sex marriages.
We are concerned that this debate is being framed by some as ‘LGBT people vs religion’, when in reality there are many LGBT people of faith and there is a great divergence of opinion on same-sex marriage amongst - and within - religious bodies.”

Outstanding
We read many thought-provoking articles and watch a lot of interesting videos online - some of which we agree with, some we absolutely disagree with, and some we’re not so sure about. Because we’ve made a conscious decision not to fill our tumblr with a lot of reblogs, but we do want to facilitate people reading interesting material, we’ve decided to do a weekly round-up of interesting LGBT and/or faith-related articles we’ve read that week. This may or may not happen every week (the name might change to a biweekly round-up over time), but we’re starting optimistically!
- Jeremy Marks in The Guardian: I tried to cure gay people. Jeremy Marks is one of my all-time heroes of the LGBT Christian “movement”. He used to be an ex-gay leader, but in 2000 he changed the focus of his organisation Courage to one that supports LGBT individuals in their faith and relationships. The Guardian article just scratches the surface - you can read more on the Courage website.
- Bad Religion, by Ross Douthat and What does Jesus think about homosexuality? by Derek Flood. Both articles explore how the church should interact with the LGBT community, even and especially when they disagree theologically with gay relationships.
- The problem with “homosexuality”, by Justin Lee. Have you ever been asked the question ‘what do you think about homosexuality?’ Justin Lee discusses why this is very difficult to answer.
- The Dan Savage video that’s been circulating youtube and tumblr. I’ve linked to robofillet’s critique of Savage’s historical and theological interpretations, which I think is spot on (and not just because he gives us a HT!).
I’m in Alison and Becky’s weekly roundup! Lalalalalala! People who write a blog I read, read my blog and linked to it. This is the internet!
Thanks guys. Sorry I didn’t put your surnames in my post… I don’t actually know what they are… or if it’s private info.
Let me know!
No please tell me more.

So it’s like Glenn Beck?
Yes, except not offensive to people everywhere.

Thanks, internet
I knew it was an in-joke for a reason =(
People really like to excuse their actions on the internet with “it’s just the internet” but quite frankly I think that the way that you act when you genuinely believe your actions are of no consequence says much, much more about you than you might be willing to reveal to others
Truth
I don’t care how annoying I think it is.

But this poses a problem. I am attracted to Andrew Garfield.

Oh I knew about that lookalike thing already. I thought Andrew Garfield was “interesting” long before I was “interested” because I had that moment in The Social Network where I was like WHAT AM I DOING IN THIS MOVIE? As in, people have told me I look like movie stars before (Ewan McGregor?!) but I’d never seen it myself until then. It piqued my interest and I was like, “Who is this person?” Then later in his other movies when he didn’t look like me too much I thought he was good-looking. And now this is weird because my mum reads this blog.
Hey Mum!
Okay but now he’s doing Spiderman and sometimes we look similar and sometimes we don’t and so now it’s weird. He pulls off looking like me better than I do. Like this:

What is with that, Andrew? What are you even doing?
But yeah admittedly a lot of the guys I like look a lot like me. A lot of the girls do in a feminine way too. This has been a post about my sex life.
