This whole thing about friend-zoning that’s going around on Tumblr…
I mean, I’ve friend-zoned people before. I’ve done it heaps of times. I’ve also been relegated to the friend-zone. I don’t think expressing regret that it’s happened to you is an inherently misogynistic thing to do. It’s not something that women only do to men, and it’s not something that only ever happens between heterosexuals. Sure, the way you talk about someone who’s refused your romantic advances might be misogynistic or de-humanising or whatever, but I don’t think the idea of the “friend-zone” is particularly evil.
