Now that Ethan from The Class is tumblr-famous, the prophecy has been fulfilled! Janis Ian, Dipper Pine, and Mitchell Pritchett all starred on a show together in 2006 called The Class and it was fucking great. The entire show is on YouTube and you can watch it by clicking this link.
The Class is a cancelled 13 episode sitcom from the creators of Friends that focuses around a group of people that meet in a grade school reunion party. Unlike most sitcoms, it has this complicated interwoven structure where not all of the characters know each other, they all are related in a Kevin Bacony way, but there’s three distinct stories. Obviously, the best part of the show is when two unrelated story lines interact, which happens several times!
It also has a really weird, dark sense of humor and opens with an attempted suicide. The character’s suicide is comically interrupted but as we learn more and more details about his life his reason for attempting suicide becomes more and more clear. It gets dark, deep, and involving.
ALSO: The show has an ending that is a REALLY GOOD way to end a sitcom’s first season and it’ll make you wish it wasn’t cancelled but also happy that you watched it.
My mission in life is to get people to watch good cancelled shows okay watch it now.
I can confirm it’s an awesome show but/and it appears there are way more episodes than just 13! I’m watching episode 14 right now.
